Back to school!

Wow! There has been such a big change upon stepping into the campus on a cool Monday morning at 8am.
Today, apart from the slight showers in the morning, I think, we still had our warm sunshine (a unique feature of TAS and Sentosa Island)

Just some new goodies on campus are:

- Vending Machines
- Water Coolers
- New lecturers
- New subjects
- New CCAs (Probably...)
- New Sandwich Bar (unconfirmed)

However, as what Mr Neo said, "My restaurant has turned into a forest." I very much have to agree with this statement. The 8 to 9 potted plants which have been placed next to the Alfresco Dining Area has indeed made the school Greener.
Though its is meant to provide shade for us, I fear it may become a mosquito haven or a peacock restroom. "Touch Wood" But..let's watch and see.
The good news for me is that I may have a good chance of swopping CDS from Japanese to Creative Writing. Would very much love Japanese, but for the sake of my Diploma in Elementary French.
But I guess...Creative Writing isn't that bad, I mean if you do have a level of competence in English, the subject's value addedness would be enhanced.

In the afternoon, went back to Tampines Campus to return a blazer and purchase some books. To my greatest horror, I forgot the blazer cover and the books were not even shipped in or ordered yet.
Then again, borrowing from the library is my temporary solution.

Will write again tomorrow. If I have the time...haha : )

Time flies

Well, here we are again. The beginning of a new semester, new subjects, new lecturers...new classmates???
Erm...nope! I stand corrected. I just don't understand what the timetabling committee is up to...what's with everybody in the same class again.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it said that as Hospitality & Tourism students, we are rotated so frequently so as to get to know and work with new people? Anyway, I'm not sure, as Mr Dillon said, there probably are some underlying reasons. Perhaps, they didn't want the hassle of shifting us around after all the placements in Culinary & Service skills.

Ok. Anyway, enough pondering about the new semester which is just 2 days away. Time sure flies...2 months IS short.
Firstly, I have never been so busy at work. I can tell you...I never spent more than 15 minutes on a single thing. Here's how my day went

9.10am - Arrived at work (Ok, I was late, very late, supposed to reach at 8am)
9.15am - Running around delivering 2 wedding cards (My colleagues getting married)
9.20am - Entered my office, barely had time to put my bag down when my Department Head asked to see me.
9.25am - Rushed to the library to return some books, to my greatest horror...the system is down.
9.30am - Back in my office, some student came to return my English resources
9.45am - Non stop work at the PC, preparing cover pages for SEM report and collation of attendance
12pm - Lunch...canteen was closed, but I went down to Waffle Town. Its this Fast food restaurant opposite my school. It serves real good Sambal Chilli Fish with Butter Rice. Anyone keen to try? Let me know...
1.05pm - Back to work, when another student asked me to have dessert.
2.37pm - Helped to re - connect some PCs, do some shifting of furniture and take attendance for remedial session
3.50pm - Colleague discovered that our office door was unlocked. Which sent my Department Head and myself into a panic frenzy. Looking for the Operations Manager as the key was at home...
4.30pm - Door locked, whew....Security
5pm - Did my quiet time, reading the Purpose Driven Life
5.35pm - Knocked off from work

I have to go back tomorrow to finish up some stuff, before I effectively leave & resign.

Will write again.
