I'm sitting here in a boring room, just another Saturday afternoon
Well, I must say that my life has returned to the good old Saturdays which never came. For the past 6 months, Saturdays have been immersed with "Bonjour", "Cava", "Blah Blah Blah" and "Au Revior, a la sermaine prochaine."
Catch no ball?
Hmm...I was referring to the French tutorials I 've been taking at Alliance Francais De Singapour. Anyhow, they were in the afternoon from 2.30pm to 5.30pm, and then I was moved to the 9am to 12pm class. Dread it! Lack of sleep and no late nights on Friday...
For now, Saturdays have been a time for me to sleep in, get up around 8am or 9am and catch up with work or vegetate in my room just reading a book.
So kind of appreciating Saturdays as quality time with my family and staying at home.
Last Saturday, Faith & I worked for a family dinner at Chef Michelangelo's house. I have to say that Chef Angelo is one of the best bosses I have worked under. His family members are so gracious and they even regarded the 2 of us as guests.
Imagine, getting paid to attend a family dinner party. I must admit that we didn't really feel like staff but more of helpers at the dinner. The Tiramisu was mouth watering with its strong hint of coffee liquer and the various types of Indian food with its waffling scent of various herbs and spices.
Spent the week attending briefings, an F & B supervision workshop, SA EXCO meeting and eating at the newly opened food court - Koufu. The plan to revamp Sentosa has been going well so far, the mini complex with the food court, 7 - Eleven and souvenier shop really bring convenience to beach goers.
I can't wait to see the revitalization of our very own resort island, I hope that once Vivo City, Sentosa Express and the whole island has been re - developed, it'll be an exciting and innovative experience for both locals and international visitors.
Anyway, I'm starting to count my blessings for the people around me, my family, relatives, friends, lecturers and everyone else who I come into personal contact with.
I used to take things for granted and questioned when I felt unappreciated by others. However, I told myself, maybe I need to start the day with a smile and to look at what others have done for me. That way, you'll feel alot better.
Ok. Got an exhilirating evening of World Cup 2006 - Brazil vs Australia at Tian's place tomorrow night.
Alright, busy days, weeks and months ahead of us.
Good bye & Good luck!
